Yesterday, Israel "released" Mordechai Vanunu from prison. In 1986, he was kidnapped in Rome and jailed, because he made public that Israel builds weapons of mass destruction. Even today, after 18 years, Israel still believes (better: claims) that he is dangerous, because he knows too much. Good to know that they could not develop their weapons any further, bad that he sill has no rights whatsoever.
Israel still occupies foreign territories and ignores international law. That is a pain, they should know better! And the USA, themselves neither peaceful nor law-abiding, strongly support this. In the words of UN special envoy for Iraq Lakhdar Brahimi: "There's no doubt that the strong poison in the region is this Israeli policy of domination and suffering imposed on the Palestinians. All peoples in and outside the region found this policy and the US support to it inequitable."
