Silver machines were introduced by Jack Silver to study some properties of the constructible universe L avoiding fine structure theory. I use a special machine — the Koepke-Richardson-Silver-machine — to prove the strong covering lemma.
To find out more about this, You can have a look at my Diplom thesis at the Mathematical Logic Group at the University of Bonn.
I work out the Friedman-Koepke Hyperfine Structure Theory and use it to construct first a gap-1-morass and then a gap-2-morass with perfect preservation.
If you are interested in TeX. I used pi.sty which uses ntheorem.sty for theorem-like environments (including end marks).
